Biography

Franz Beer, since his ennoblement by the emperor on 31 January 1722 Franz Beer Edler von Bleichten, also in the writing form of Blaichten, (* 1 April 1660 in Au (Vorarlberg); † 21 January 1726 in Bezau) was an Austrian architect and master builder of the baroque period, who mainly built church buildings for monasteries in southern Germany and Switzerland. He was son of the founder of the Auer Zunft Michael Beer and father of Johann Michael Beer, also a master builder.
