Georg Raphael Donner (* 24. May 1693 in Essling (today Vienna); â 15. February 1741 in Vienna) was an Austrian sculptor and medalist. Besides Balthasar Permoser he is considered to be the most important Central European sculptor of his time. Donner acquired his second first name Raphael in admiration for the Italian painter Raphael and Roman antiquity (hence the spelling Raphael Donner).
