Leonaert Bramer (* 24. December 1596 in Delft; 10. February 1674 ebenda) was a Dutch painter of genre pictures, religious and mythological scenes, and historical pictures. As a painter and draughtsman, he is highly esteemed above all for nocturnal scenes that show a preference for exotic costume details and dramatic stagings. Bramer is regarded as one of the most fascinating personalities of Dutch art in the 17th century.
